On 11 & 12 June 2026, Ocean Decade Australia (ODA) convened the Pacific Ocean Business Leader’s Summit, bringing together leaders from across Australia to explore how marine resources can achieve sustainable growth support the ocean energy transition and help meet the region’s future energy needs.
While Azura was unable to participate in person, our General Manager, Stephanie Thornton, contributed to the Summit by submitting a White Paper for consideration by the delegation. Her paper encourages the conversation to evolve beyond the traditional focus on ocean energy devices and electricity generation. By generating power and/or freshwater from the sea, ocean energy has the potential to:
We thank Ocean Decade Australia for fostering this important dialogue and look forward to continuing to contribute to the development of practical, scalable energy and freshwater solutions from the sea.
